Vacuum Plate

24 Apr

ImageWhether you use a manual vacuum on you pool or if you use any of the automatic “suction side” cleaners, you need a”vacuum plate”. The vacuum plate allows you to clean the bottom of the pool and keep the skimmer basket in place. If you remove your skimmer basket to attach your vacuum hose you can easily clog the impeller on your Waterway pump. If you have lost your vacuum plate for your Waterway Thru Wall skimmer, you should replace it. Several different manufactures use Waterway skimmers, including: Rec Warehouse and Namco.

Circ pump??

19 Apr

Hot tub circulation pumps (nicknamed “circ” pumps), are smaller than main pumps but they have to be rugged because they keep the water moving in your spa 24/7 (this provides continuos filtration and helps prevent your crystal clear spa water from looking more like swamp water). Our circ pumps are the best available and feature: Viton seals, 1.3 amp draw, 40 gpm, and a 48 frame.

Cartridge Filters

14 Apr

Springtime is the right time to replace your cartridge. As a cartridge gets older the length of time between cleanings get shorter. When the cartridge is new, you might get a month in between cleanings. As time goes on the cycles will become as short as every other day. This signals that it is time to replace the cartridge. We carry all of the Waterway replacement cartridges including the Pro Clean. http://www.waterwayparts.com
If you are not sure what the right cartridge is, call our help line at 210-650-4034. Please have the dimensions of the cartridge ready. (height, diameter, and the diameter of the opening)

Pump Pot

7 Apr

Pump pots are needed when the spa pump is mounted near or above the water line. The pot prevents water from draining back into the spa when the motor is turned off.

Even if pumps are installed below the water level, installing a pump pot helps in many ways. Pump pots also help remove air from the water lines, and helps the pump provide consistent water flow. Most spas don’t have all the water flowing through the filter. There is a strainer inside the pump pot to help prevent leaves, rocks, or large debris from entering into the pump housing that can damage internal parts. Our pump pots are manufactured by Waterway Plastics. These are the perfect replacement for the Baquapure pumps sold by Rec Warehouse. Several other sizes are available at www.waterwayparts.com

When I vacuum, the filter pressure rises quickly, why?

6 Apr

You may need to backwash more frequently or for a longer period of time. Debris can quickly clog a filter, especially if there are algae present. Backwashing should be done whenever the pressure rises 8-10 PSI over clean filter pressure and should continue till the water runs clear through the sight tube on the waste port of the multi-port valve.
