Waterway Sand Filter Caps

Yes, both caps are approximately 2 3/8″ inside thread diameter. They are NOT interchangeable. Look closely at the threads. 602-5321(middle photo) has a rounded thread. This is the current style. The older cap(bottom) 602-5301 has a much sharper angled  thread. The change occurred in about 2010. If you can not remember what shape the old drain cap was round or hexagon you will need to examine the threads on the sand tank. Both caps require the same o ring (805-0224). IN 2021 BOTH REPLACEMENT CAPS WERE PRODUCED IN THE HEXAGON SHAPE . THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE TYPE OF THREAD. AGAIN THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

Pressure gauge assembly kit

There is a complete assembly to repair the pressure gauge on a Clearwater II, Eco Kleer, Blue Star, Clear Bay, or Premium Blue cartridge or D.E. filter.

This kit contains everything you need to replace the entire assembly. This assembly is accessed from the inside of the tank lid by unthreading the gauge lock nut from the adapter fitting and pushing the gauge assembly up through the lid

Waterway Pump Traps

These Waterway pump traps look similar, but they are not interchangeable. Before you order a replacement be sure to check the size of the union nut that connects the trap to the face of the pump. The union nuts are different sizes and are labeled with different part numbers(as shown in lower pics). Trap 310-6500 will fit the Hi Flo and Hi Flo II pumps. Trap 310-5400 will fit the Iron Might, E Series, Spa Flo, TWM, and Center Discharge pumps.

Waterway Twist Lock Jets

TWIST-LOCK JETS

Rotate spa jet face counter-clockwise (about 1/4 turn until it stops). Then apply additional turning force past the stop to unlock. Now pull jet insert outward, free of its housing.

Tip: Rubber gloves will help you get a better grip.

Waterway 417-5260 vs. 417-5060

Part number 417-5260 is no longer manufactured. A possible replacement is 417-5060, however, it does require a ribbed gasket (711-4030) or an o-ring (805-0229) Notice the groove on the face of buttress side. The older obsolete version was smooth for a flat gasket.

417-5060 is a 2″ SPG and will not work as a 1.5″ slip. If you need this fitting for a 1.5″ slip use part number 417-2090. All the fittings mentioned are the same on the buttress thread side.

Rugged glass-filled ABS housing, 40 GPM, Viton seals, for 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe size. Uses 400-4060 pump unions, sold separately. Pump head can be rotated to 3 or 9 o’clock position, or other positions. Discharge is also internally threaded 1.5″ FPT. This pump is also available in a 220v version.

TWM CARTRIDGE FILTER SYSTEM

Increase the size of your filter

The Waterway TWM cartridge filter equipment can be modified easily. You can increase the size of the filter tank and extend the cycle in between cleanings. Pictured is the largest TWM tank it holds a 100 sq ft cartridge filter, the smaller tanks can be as small as 25 sq ft.

Part# 500-2515 is the 25 sq ft tank

Part# 500-5015 is the 50 sq ft tank

Part# 500-9915P is the 100 sq ft tank

Waterway Sand Filter Valve Repair

The most common problem with the multi port valve on a sand filter is the “spider gasket” (711-1910b), but replacing it can be a bit complicated. There are three different solutions for the repair. The easiest is to replace the entire internal assembly (600-9600)this method allows you to keep all the filter hoses attached and just remove the six bolts at the top of the valve. The assembly can only be re-inserted one way because of the notch in the side of the lid (you can’t mess it up).The second method is replacing the “plug” this method has the gasket already secured to the diverter but does require removing the handle and compressing the spring. The hardest but most economical fix is to replace the spider gasket only, but this entails removing the old gasket and properly securing the new gasket to the plug. Securing the gasket to the plug requires a level of expertise.You can try using 2 or 3 drops of super glue to hold it on to the plug. All these parts are available at http://www.waterwayparts.com
