TWIST-LOCK JETS

Rotate spa jet face counter-clockwise (about 1/4 turn until it stops). Then apply additional turning force past the stop to unlock. Now pull jet insert outward, free of its housing.

Tip: Rubber gloves will help you get a better grip.

Waterway Snap in jet / Mini storm

 

Waterway Snap-in jets came in several styles and sizes. Cluster storm, Mini storm, Poly storm, and Power storm. The Mini storm snap in jet is pictured. Snap in jets have been replaced with “thread in ” jets, however they are not interchangeable. The (jet body) determines what style jet will fit. The snap in jet diffuser (rear part) may have the number 218-6930 engraved on it.        Snap in body is pictured below .

No matter what style (faceplate and color) Mini storm jet you had you may need to replace it with the only color and style that is still produced, Sterling Silver (almost white and directional).

Replacing the jet body to convert to the thread in style requires a lot of plumbing work.

Sterling Silver is the color on the right. This directional style jet is the only replacement for Mini Storm. Roto, twin roto, massage, galaxy, multi massage, and massage are no longer available.

Replace spa jet diffuser?

Replacing the jet diffuser can be a good option if the tabs that hold the jet into the housing are broken and the rest of the diffuser looks in good condition. If the diffuser is flaking and becoming brittle it is recommended to replace the entire jet. Why? If the diffuser is deteriorating then the rest of the jet internals including the bearings probably are too. This is caused by low Alkalinity, pH or Calcium. The white residue that is coming of the diffuser isn’t usually scale but the plastic deteriorating. In this case replacing the diffuser may be a short term fix, but you will most likely need a new jet soon.
