HI FLO PUMP (BAQUAPURE) has been re designed!!

Old style Hi Flo vs. New style Hi Flo II

Old style Hi Flo vs. New style Hi Flo II

The height of the discharge fitting has changed. The “old style” Hi Flo pump was 7 1/2″ from bottom of faceplate to the top of the discharge fitting. The “new style” Hi Flo II is 8 3/16th ” to the discharge fitting.  On a sand filter this should not have any impact. On some cartridge filters it may prove a problem. If there is a hard union in between the tank and the pump the height of the pump can cause you to “re plumb”. Although the threads on the intake and discharge are the same, their placement may cause you to use a “different ” connector to your filter, or you may have to move the pump a slight distance farther from the filter tank.  We can help you with the fittings needed to convert @ http://www.waterwayparts.com

Why will my multi-port valve handle not stay up?

Baquapure, Eliminator, or Aquastar Valves…..

The handle is kept in position by a handle spring. The tension on the handle helps keep the gasket seated and the water flowing in the correct direction. The spring may need to be replaced. Part # 827-0002  at  www.waterwayparts.com

Proline Cartridge filter

31 May

The oring that seals the top lid of your Proline cartridge filter may need to be replaced. Never lubricate this oring with petroleum-based products (like vaseline). Teflon or silicone based lubricants will make the oring last longer. We have the orings and several other parts for the Proline filters at http://www.waterwayparts.com Part # 805-0460

Just to make things a little more complicated, there were several different versions of this filter. You may want to email a photo of your exact filter to ensure you get the right parts.     sales@waterwayparts.com

Waterway Cartridge filters: Do sharp pleats make a difference?

12 May

Cleanability:
sharp folds increase the spacing between pleats making it easier to flush out loose debris.

Eliminates bridging:
allows particles to get down into the pleat instead of laying across the top of two or more pleats. This assures maximum dirt holding.

Full utilization of the pleat surface:
allows debris to build up from the inside out, critical to obtaining the maximum cycle life between cleanings.

Maximizes flow, minimizes pressure loss – by decreasing the surface contact between the inner pleat knuckle and center tube.
