Waterway Pump Traps

21 Mar

These Waterway pump traps look similar, but they are not interchangeable. Before you order a replacement be sure to check the size of the union nut that connects the trap to the face of the pump. The union nuts are different sizes and are labeled with different part numbers(as shown in lower pics). Trap 310-6500 will fit the Hi Flo and Hi Flo II pumps. Trap 310-5400 will fit the Iron Might, E Series, Spa Flo, TWM, and Center Discharge pumps.

Why will my multi-port valve not stay up?

7 Jul

827-0002_jpg

The handle is kept in position by a handle spring. The tension on the handle helps keep the gasket seated and the water flowing in the correct direction. The spring may need to be replaced.

Why is the filter short cycling ,building pressure quickly after backwashing ?

27 Jul

Refer to Waterway’s owners guide for proper backwashing procedures. It may be that you are not backwashing long enough. Always backwash until the water is flowing clean/clear through the waste adapter fitting.

You may have live algae causing the filter to clog. You may also have mineral deposits building in the sand bed.

It is highly recommended that you have your water tested by your local pool/spa professional or dealer. Compare those results with your own. You may need to update your test kit or replace the testing solutions.

DIVERTER VALVE ASSY. W/GASKET

14 Jul

If your Baquapure or Aquastar sand filter valve is leaking out the backwash port, you may need to replace this diverter. When the gasket gets worn it allows water to travel in between the different valve positions. You are actually backwashing at the same time you are filtering. You can extend the life of your filter system with this repair.  Part # 600-9500 at www.waterwayparts.com

Do I need to lubricate my chlorinator lid o-ring?

23 Jun

Yes. The lid o-ring should be lubricated at least once per month to maintain its elasticity.

A silicone-based lubricant should be used as it holds up better to the chlorine gas. Silicone or Teflon based o-ring lubricant is recommended on all o-rings used on Waterway product.  Parts   www.waterwayparts.com
